Life's story

After leaving Cuba for political reasons, I entered the United States and started kindergarten. A few years later, with a Ph.D. in physics from an enormous state university, I kicked around in the usual series of postdocs, both here and abroad. My mobility has declined since discovering the Bay Area's charms (e.g., sushi, earthquakes, left turn on red in Berkeley).
